From April 24–26, 2025, the Aga Khan Humanities Project (AKHP) of the University of Central Asia (UCA) hosted an intensive professional development seminar for 30 university teachers in Khujand at the Tajikistan State University of Law, Business, and Politics. The workshop introduced innovative, student-centered teaching methods and the newly updated “Individual and Society” coursebook.
Led by a team of experienced trainers, participants engaged in text-based discussions, film analysis, academic writing workshops, and dynamic debates using the AKHP Cross Debate Format. Teachers explored interdisciplinary topics-identity, ethics, technology, and environment-through cross-cultural texts and digital tools like Padlet and Google Forms.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive: educators valued the practical, interactive approach and expressed strong interest in further training. The workshop strengthened partnerships with local institutions and highlighted the growing demand for AKHP’s humanities programmes in Tajikistan.
UCA and AKHP remain committed to supporting educators and fostering critical thinking and academic excellence across the region.
